I will be taking some time off Thursday until the end of next week, so Tuesday will be the only meal night for the next 2 weeks.
Tuesday – Sandwich Night – choice of 3 options, all served with krinkle cut Kettle Chips. $10/person
Sloppy Joes – That’s right, I’m launching a childhood favourite of mine. Sauteed beef and pork simmered with onion, garlic, green pepper, and a great Joe Sauce I’ve managed to whip up. Multiple napkins are needed and may I recommend the way I eat it – place some of the kettle chips on the bottom bun before you put the meat on the sandwich. It’s helps keep the bottom bun in one piece and adds that subtle crunch and saltiness to the sandwich.
Smoked Meat – The brisket is cured for 5 days, smoked for 6 hours, and then steamed to perfection. It’s then shaved thin, piled high on rye bread, and brushed with grain mustard.
Veggie Sandwich – Sauteed rapini in garlic, roasted red pepper and portobello mushrooms, and fresh chili oil served on a toasted ciabatta bun.
Stay tuned as one of my favourite chicken dishes growing up is hitting the Fresh Local menu the week of February 24th.
